Business Consultant

A 'poacher turned gamekeeper' was how a former client described my new business development; the concept is well known, of course, in that often the best person to hire as a gamekeeper is the former poacher! Perhaps this is little strong but it's true that former poachers know the 'best' practice - strengths and weaknesses, and most importantly, how to manage them.

So, after 20 years on one side of the creative industries, I’m now looking forward to bring some fresh insight to the other!

As a former MD of a creative communications firm, I have a deep understanding of how to guide an enterprise, fledgling or established,
through managing significant transition and change management.

With a new project, sometimes, just getting started can be the hardest thing
?

I can help
- research, define and state your strategy brand position;
- shape marketing communications programme and manage activity cycles
- assist in selecting a panel of creative professional resources to interview and appoint;
- guide your organisation to negotiate reasonable fee arrangements, and
- assist you manage and monitor a project's performance,

so that you get real, tangible value for money and the most effective, and aesthetic appealing, solutions.

Given the levels of expenditure involved in a typical design project - whether it's developing a brand/corporate identity or producing corporate/marketing collateral - this is a significant expense that, in today's business environment, demands to be managed with experience.

Equally, when, from time to time, a project deviates or worse still, relations falter, an independent arbitrator can be an effective counsel to re-establish project focus and goals and put affairs back on track.

More importantly is the broader corporate equity value at stake; this consideration of the investment dwarfs any advisors' fees and highlights the unacceptable cost of failure! Ensuring your creative partners are fit to deliver a sustainable strategy is a critical task and not all organisations have the capacity, or the expertise, to manage this on their own.
